Exodus 6 2 3
This isn't saying he was known by another name. If you remember he told Moses to tell pharaoh that his name was i am that i am. The exodus scripture really means that he hadn't told them his name, just that he was God almighty.
today, i want to share some scriptures i have come across in my research which show the link between yahweh and the canaanite god el.
el and other variations such as elyon, el shaddai and elohim appear many times in the bible.
these are usually translated as god, most high, god almighty and so on.

when i was a jobo, i used to thing of 'life without end at laaaasssssst'.. having been on my journey out of the wbt$ slaveholdery, i have found that something that makes sense is that life doesn't owe us a meaning.
psalms 146:4 was actually bangeth on the money-eth 'his breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.'.
although i am now very atheist, and really do not even think there is the remotest possibility of a god, that bible passage is correct.
And although my fellow JW teach that after 1914 it would be only a short amount of time until the End comes...I've realized that we don't understand time like Jehovah. To a Enternal God, even a 1000 years would be a short amount of time because of how long he has been. I just pray to Jehovah that it will be soon and let me be one of those that do get to crossover and be alive to see it from the beginning.
Edit: That created some kind of link.

Although I do believe in God and have reasons for it and why the End is near I do think about Aethist views sometime.
Although Aethist hate some religions idea of a Hell, what they believe in is way worse. Nothing. Not even a reward in heaven like those other religons believe. That's scary.
I wonder what my mindset would be 40-50 years from now when I'm in my 60s or 70s if the End hasn't came. My aunt is 69 and she says she doesn't think it will be that long. But I also remember one time driving to a assembly my moms friend was telling about how her brother said he didn't think the End will come out until ten more years.
She said she told him "do you really think it will be ten more years?" And now look. That was 2005 and it's to be 12 years.
"a believer" seems to be our new apologist/disobedient sheep.
"a believer" ignores the "spirit-directed"/"bible-based" commands of the gb/fds!
shame on you, "a believer"!!!!
Hmmm I hadn't thought of that

If some of you can be more respectful when replying to me it would be appreciated.
I am not baptized or beginning to believe in any other religion so it's impossible for me to be disfellowshiped. I don't think me just being around or talking to non believers is a problem or otherwise Witnesses wouldn't allow their kids to attend public schools.

i bet most witnesses could not explain their blood policy, their understanding of the slave, and even simple biblical doctrines....they are an embarrassment to any old timer..
For what reason would I lie? All I said was you could ask another JW if you didn't believe me. That they would let you use the bible you're more comfortable with in the beginning of a study with someone new isn't a foreign concept.
that's a comment i heard from an elder i haven't seen in over a decade, yesterday.
i mentioned it all on my other thread.
i responded that i knew of no one that was crawling back to the meetings and gave him an incredulous hearty chuckle.
No you shouldn't believe minimus. He hates the religion so of course he would make the interaction sound bad. I doubt this encounter even happened.

Thisisme I can't find it online. I'm only said that because I hear it from talkers and the ministry school. They let you use whatever bible you want to when you first begin studying with an unbeliver because they might be more comfortable with that version.
Of course now you will probably say I am lieing, and I could tell you to go talk to a JW you know and ask them. But then you will say you don't want to.

TTWYSF Our Bible is different in that Gods name is not replaced with a generic title. When first starting a personal study with someone they can use whatever bible they want.
